The Opportunity

A highly regarded boutique law firm in Greenwich, CT, focused exclusively on estate planning and administration for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families and individuals, is seeking a Fiduciary Accountant to join its close-knit team.

This is a rare chance to do genuinely sophisticated technical work without the punishing hours of a public accounting firm. You'll prepare and review the kind of complex, high-dollar returns that most accountants only see occasionally as your core, day-to-day work, all while enjoying reasonable hours, a strong work/life balance, and a "busy season" that looks nothing like the grind you're used to.

What

You'll Do

You'll own the fiduciary and transfer-tax compliance function for a discerning client base, including:

  • Form 1041
, Fiduciary Income Tax Returns for estates and trusts
  • All corresponding state returns

You'll work directly alongside the firm's attorneys and advisors on estate administration, gift planning, and trust matters, bringing technical precision to complex fact patterns involving substantial and often intricate estates.

Why This Role Is Different

Most fiduciary accountants get their reps at large public accounting firms, trading interesting work for brutal hours and relentless deadlines. This role flips that equation:

  • Complex, high-caliber work. 706s, 1041s, and 709s for HNW and UHNW clients are the norm here, not the exception.
  • Real work/life balance. Reasonable, predictable hours and a genuinely manageable busy season.
  • A collaborative, low-ego environment. A boutique setting where your expertise is valued and visible, not buried in a compliance factory.
  • Hybrid flexibility. Split your time between the Greenwich office and home.
What We're Looking For
  • Hands-on experience preparing and/or reviewing Forms 706, 1041, and 709 and related state filings
  • A background in fiduciary/trust and estate accounting, ideally from a public accounting firm, family office, trust company, or estate planning practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of estate, gift, and fiduciary income taxation
  • CPA and/or relevant advanced credentials a plus, though strong, directly relevant experience is what matters most
  • A detail-oriented, self-directed professional who thrives in a smaller, high-touch environment
  • Base salary of $150,000 to $200,000
    , commensurate with experience
  • Performance bonus
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Comprehensive benefits and additional perks
  • Hybrid schedule with strong work/life balance
