Overview

The Dalio Family Office (DFO) supports Barbara and Ray Dalio and their family in their ventures and investments as well as their work through Dalio Philanthropies, including Ocean

X, Dalio Education, Endless Network, and the Beijing Dalio Foundation. The DFO is rooted in a culture of meaningful work and meaningful relationships and the family’s legacy of giving back. The office is headquartered in Westport, CT with a satellite office in New York City.

Position Location

This position will work from the Sound View office in Greenwich or on-site with grantee partners at least three days a week, with some in-state travel required for on-site work (e.g., Bridgeport, Stamford, New Haven, Hartford).

Position Summary

The Portfolio Associate plays an integral role on a small team, working across all of Dalio Education’s initiatives and projects in support of the Connecticut Opportunity Project, Dalio Education’s social investment fund, as well as Dalio Education’s workforce initiatives and in furtherance of its research agenda. Through the active management of multiple tasks, supported by intentional professional development and active mentoring from senior team members, the Portfolio Associate will execute critical administrative functions including the management of logistics and communication to support internal and external meetings and key processes, with the opportunity to learn and grow through participation in selected activities.

Day-to-day

responsibilities
  • With instruction from senior team members, prepare and circulate agendas and supporting materials for meetings, both internal and external;
  • Participate in selected meetings and workshops to learn while supporting through timekeeping and note taking, including the tracking and dissemination of action items;
  • Provide administrative support to the CTOP Senior Portfolio Directors, CTOP Deputy Director, and Director of Workforce Initiatives, including supporting calendar coordination for external meetings and the completion of expense reports and bi-weekly updates;
  • Provide support to teammates and consultants in logistics related to external communications, including the Dalio Education and CTOP websites, social media, newsletters, and Annual Report;
  • Support the planning and execution of grantee learning experiences including workshops, convenings, and learning visits, including administrative, logistical, and communication responsibilities;
  • Support the development and execution of Dalio Education’s research agenda, including administrative, logistical, and communication responsibilities; and
  • Provide added capacity to grants management, including tracking grant execution, reporting deadlines, and payments, advancing related processes, and uploading materials to Sales Force;
  • Provide added capacity to contracts management for mission-related vendors, including around procurement, onboarding, invoicing, and payments.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following professional qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience: coordination of program management or systems in a nonprofit setting, and/or in philanthropic grant-making, and/or in data management and research organizations;
  • Bachelor’s degree at an accredited higher education institution; and
