Clerical Assistant; Part-time

Position Overview

Provides customer service for various individuals (residents, builders, real estate agents, etc.) in the Building Inspection Division's record room. Provides clerical support for the Public Works Department, including computer work, scanning, filing, data entry, answering phones, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position is part time, working up to 15 hours per week in the office.

• Provide customer service to residents, builders, real estate agents, and other individuals in the Building Inspection Division's record room.
• Perform clerical support tasks for the Public Works Department, such as computer work, scanning, filing, data entry, and answering phones.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma plus some professional experience working in a fast-paced, computerized office environment.

• All outside candidates must undergo and pass a pre-employment medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test for THC (the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana), at the Town's expense, prior to employment if conditionally offered a part time, full time, or safety sensitive position.
• The Town of Greenwich requires background investigations for all full and part time positions as part of the reference checking procedures for outside candidates. The investigation will only be conducted as the last step prior to an offer. Refusal to sign the release form will terminate the candidate's further consideration.
• All positions may be subject to an interview process. The Town reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be invited to participate in the examination, or any part thereof.
