The OpportunityThey're looking for an experienced Estimator to join their preconstruction team and play an important role in pursuing and planning new work.
You’ll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and leadership to develop accurate estimates, understand project risks, and put together competitive proposals. This is an opportunity to have a real impact on the projects the company pursues and how they’re set up for success.
What You’ll Be Doing- Develop estimates from conceptual design through final bid
- Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analysis
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Develop scopes of work and identify potential gaps
- Review drawings and specifications for constructability, risk, and cost impacts
- Participate in value engineering and preconstruction planning
- Work with project teams to ensure a smooth handoff from estimating into construction
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and industry partners
- Estimating or preconstruction experience within commercial or industrial construction
- Strong understanding of construction costs, drawings, specifications, and trade scopes
- Ability to develop accurate estimates and compare subcontractor proposals
- Comfortable working directly with subcontractors, project teams, and clients
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
- Someone who is resourceful, takes ownership, communicates well, and enjoys working as part of a team
- Construction-related degree preferred, but equivalent industry experience will be considered
