Job Description:

Greenwich, CT Public Schools seeks an innovative and dynamic leader to serve as the K-8 Science Program Coordinator. The K-8 Science Program Coordinator is responsible for designing, developing, leading, and evaluating the K-8 science instructional program. The K-8 Science Program Coordinator reports directly to the Chief Officer of Curriculum & Leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Serves as a K-8 program leader and a liaison between the district, Board of Education, and K-8 teachers.

* Designs, evaluates, and revises program curricula, including the ALP science curriculum, and ensures alignment with state standards.

* Provides organization and leadership in the adoption and use of instructional materials.

* Develops, recommends, and assists in the implementation of the budget for his/her academic field.

* Provides ongoing professional learning aligned to Next-Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and three-dimensional teaching practices

* Analyzes and utilizes K-8 science assessment and instructional data to evaluate program effectiveness, identify trends and gaps in student learning, inform instructional decision-making, and support continuous program improvement.

* Provides instructional and programmatic oversight of K-8 library media programs, maker spaces, and instructional technology integration to support STEM learning, CCS research standards, and digital literacy aligned with ISTE Standards.

* Plans and conducts K-8 program meetings.

* Collaborates and supports K-8 administrators.

* Keeps all stakeholders, schools, teachers, administrators, and the community informed about program developments.

* Creates and distributes clear learning progressions for program teachers.

* Evaluates staff as assigned.

* Collaborates as a member of the coordinator team on Board of Education reports, district newsletters, and presentations to PTAs and other stakeholder groups.

* Coordinates with community partners to plan, implement, and support high-quality, assured learning experiences for Greenwich Public Schools.

* Updates the Board of Education annually on program evaluation, student achievement, curriculum, and other reports as requested.

* Travels to school buildings and professional meetings as required.

* Additional projects and/or duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

* Standard administrator work schedule including attendance at Board meetings and other meetings as needed.

* Carries out his/her professional responsibilities to the extent required by the operational programs of the Greenwich Board of Education.

* Salary and benefits package is based on the Agreement between the Greenwich Board of Education and the Greenwich Organization of School Administrators
