POSITION OVERVIEW:
New York City FC is seeking an experienced and mission-driven leader to serve as Senior Manager, Girls Academy. This role will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the club’s Girls Academy program, ensuring alignment with NYCFC’s philosophy on player development, and long-term pathway objectives.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for technical standards, staff leadership, operational excellence, and the holistic development of female players within the academy structure. This individual will play a critical role in building a best-in-class environment that supports high-performance outcomes while fostering education, character development, and well-being.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Technical Leadership & Player Development
- Oversee the full technical direction of the Girls Academy (U9-U18).
- Ensure implementation of NYCFC’s game model, methodology, and player development curriculum.
- Establish and maintain individual development plans (IDPs) for players.
- Lead performance review processes, including club KPI’s.
- Collaborate with leadership to define long-term pathway objectives.
Staff Management & Development
- Recruit, supervise, and evaluate coaching staff.
- Lead ongoing coach education and professional development initiatives.
- Establish performance standards and accountability structures.
Program Operations
- Oversee academy scheduling, competition planning, and league compliance.
- Ensure alignment with Girls Academy League standards and regulations.
- Set & manage budgets in partnership with club leadership.
- Coordinate travel, facilities usage, and matchday operations in collaboration with administrative staff.
Talent Identification & Recruitment
- Establish strong relationships with local clubs and community partners.
- Oversee player identification events and trial processes.
Player Safeguarding
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and athlete-centered environment.
- Oversee safeguarding compliance and player protection protocols.
- Support academic guidance and college placement processes.
Strategic Growth & Pathway Development
- Lead the long-term strategic planning for the Girls Academy.
- Develop scalable programming that supports expansion and competitive growth.
- Represent NYCFC within league meetings, conferences, and external engagements.
- Support integration of academy graduates into higher competitive pathways where applicable.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Required:
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in elite youth development or academy leadership.
- Experience managing multi-team academy structures.
- USSF B License (or equivalent international certification).
- Proven experience in staff leadership and program management.
- Strong knowledge of the U.S. youth soccer landscape and Girls Academy League structure.
- Demonstrated ability to build high-performance environments.
Preferred:
- Background in professional club academy environments.
- Experience in girls’ and women’s elite soccer development.
- College placement or professional pathway experience.
- Advanced degree in Sport Management, Coaching, or related field.
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Ability to attend training sessions and matches regularly.
- Evening and weekend availability required.
- Regional and national travel required.
