Position: Kindergarten Teacher, Alpha - $120,000/year USD

About the Role

AI can teach reading to a six-year-old. It cannot make that child care. Closing that gap is the role. At Alpha, K-3 students complete academic work through AI-powered applications over two hours each day. As a Guide, you lead a single cohort band—K-1 (Kindergarten and first grade) or 2-3 (second and third grade)—and adjust your energy, pacing, and workshop delivery to match that band.

No lectures or worksheets. Half of your day is spent facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering public speaking, focus, and feedback skills. A playbook is provided, though the most effective Guides adapt it to their cohort and create new activities when needed. The remaining half, you meet with students individually or in small groups, analyze Coachbot data, and coach each child toward completing 100% of their weekly app goals.

Warmth creates the foundation for high expectations. High expectations communicate your belief in their ability.

A quarter is successful when every student completes their weekly app goals, passes the Test2

Pass for each life-skills workshop, and 90% or more report they love you. Fail on any of the three, and the job was not done. Year one is spent mastering the playbook; once you demonstrate the ability to maintain standards, advancement to Lead Guide becomes available, where you coach new hires while continuing to run your own cohort.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for K-3 cohorts on public speaking, focus, feedback, and other foundational skills, adapting the playbook to your cohort rather than following it verbatim.
  • Conducting daily 1:1 and small-group coaching sessions that keep every student on track for weekly app goals, using Coachbot analytics, Alpha's incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and the personal connection you have built with each child.
  • Administering the Test2

Pass, Alpha's mastery-based assessment, for each life skill and coaching students who do not initially pass until they achieve mastery.
  • Meeting kindergarteners at their developmental level with songs, stories, movement, and playfulness while holding second and third graders to clear, measurable standards.
  • Serving as the warm adult children are excited to see at drop-off AND the adult who will not allow them to settle for less than their potential.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering lectures from the front of the room. Academic instruction is provided through the apps, not through you.
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up. Alpha supplies the playbook; you bring it to life.
  • Watching kids work on computers. Motivation in this model is active, personal, and sustained.
  • Adjusting a weekly goal downward so a child can meet it. When a student falls behind, the solution is to coach the student, not lower the target.
  • Grading homework, conducting standardized test prep, or handling parent communication. Campus Leads manage parent-facing responsibilities, and the other tasks do not exist in this model.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure every student in your K-3 cohort completes their weekly learning goals, masters each life skill, and finishes the year reporting they loved you.
