St. Saviour's Church Nursery School is hiring an Early Childhood Teacher in Old Greenwich, CT
SummarySt. Saviour’s Church Nursery School, an NAEYC accredited program, is seeking a qualified and experienced early childhood teacher for the school year. We are looking for a teacher who is excited to learn and implement new ideas, enjoys collaboration with colleagues, family, and community engagement. A caring and respectful manner with young children is paramount.

DutiesThe early childhood teacher will work with children as a co-teacher in a four and five-year-old classroom. The teaching team is responsible for managing the daily operations of an early childhood classroom of 10-12 children. The children age range in September is 4-5 years old. The teaching team is responsible for planning and executing a developmentally appropriate plan based on the school's curriculum and the CT ELDS.
The teaching team is also responsible for authentic assessment of the children in their care. The school curriculum is based on a cycle of inquiry utilizing the Project Approach and The Storybook Journey.
The nine month position follows the Greenwich public school calendar from September through early June. Hours on site are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays with some flexibility for weekly planning, age level and staff meetings and professional development.
Requirements- Minimum of an Associate’s degree in education
- Experience in an early childhood or kindergarten classroom
- A desire to continue learning through professional development
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Skills including digital apps like Google Drive and Docs
- Familiarity with the CT ELDS and CT DOTS is a plus, as is experience in an NAEYC accredited program.
- Minimum teaching experience: 1 year
