Role OverviewThe most meaningful support you can offer a student who achieves 99% is to withhold calling it 100%. If that principle resonates, this role may be a fit. Students at Alpha accelerate through adaptive learning applications while developing practical life skills. Your responsibility is ensuring three core commitments are fulfilled for every student in your cohort: genuine enthusiasm for learning, progress at 2x the standard rate, and acquisition of capabilities beyond traditional curricula.
You will also develop Guides who uphold these commitments.
- Facilitating one‑hour interactive life skills and SEL sessions with K‑8 students covering public speaking, concentration, and other subjects per Alpha’s framework.
- Conducting daily engagement sessions that motivate all students toward weekly application‑based objectives using age‑appropriate mechanisms, including school currency and performance rankings.
- Developing Guides through direct observation, specific feedback, and practical training so they execute sessions with equivalent energy and accuracy.
- Analyzing Coachbot data and individual student records to pinpoint students requiring support and providing direct intervention.
- Personally mentoring your assigned student cohort, modeling the coaching and engagement techniques you expect from all Guides.
- Creating lesson plans or instructional content; the focus is on elevating the people who support students.
- Delivering traditional classroom lectures; the role is 80% performance and engagement, 20% content expertise.
- Compromising standards due to external pressure; maintaining the “not yet” stance at 99% is expected.
- Working from an office processing administrative documents; most time involves direct engagement.
- Delaying performance conversations; outcomes are visible in real time via Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately.
