Adjunct Faculty Positions – English (Composition and/or Literature)
The Department of English is seeking qualified Adjunct Professors to teach undergraduate general education courses in Introduction to College Writing (Composition) and sometimes also surveys of Literature (by genre, region, or period).

Minimum Qualifications:
• A Master’s degree in English, Rhetoric, or a closely related field
• At least one year of teaching experience at the college or university level
• For Composition courses, Graduate coursework should include composition theory, research, and pedagogy; and/or rhetorical theory and research
Preferred Qualifications:
• A Ph.D. in an appropriate field
• Coursework in or experience with writing assessment, use of technology, writing or learning center work, literary theory, and/or working with diverse student populations.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students and who can contribute effectively to our academic programs.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching undergraduate general education courses (especially first-year writing)
- Preparing course materials, lectures, and assignments
- Collecting assessment data
- Supporting student learning and engagement
