A well-established alternative investment firm based in Greenwich, Connecticut is seeking a highly motivated Private Credit Associate to join its investment research team. The firm focuses on complex situations across a range of industries, utilizing financial and operational expertise to identify value and support the transformation of companies and assets.

The Private Credit Associate will engage in fundamental company, financial, and industry analysis, as well as review key credit documentation and deal terms. Analysts are expected to take an active role throughout the lifecycle of an investment—from initial diligence through portfolio monitoring, value creation initiatives, and exit processes. The role includes significant exposure to senior investment professionals, portfolio company leadership, and boards of directors.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth investment due diligence, including business, financial, industry, legal, and management assessments.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial, liquidity, and recovery models; perform valuation and scenario analyses across complex capital structures.
  • Evaluate instruments across the capital structure to assess return profiles, downside protection, and recovery outcomes.
  • Review and summarize key credit and legal documentation to identify structural considerations and risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive investment materials outlining thesis, valuation, structure, risks, and execution plans.
  • Support transaction execution across diligence, financing, documentation, and closing processes.
  • Monitor portfolio company performance and support operational improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 3-4 years of total experience including at least 2 years in investment banking (restructuring preferred) plus 1-2 years in investing (credit, private equity, or special situations).
  • Advanced financial modeling & valuation skills.
  • Strong understanding of capital structures & accounting.
  • Experience with credit documentation & restructuring processes.
