Vice President
- Valuations & Portfolio Monitoring
A leading alternative investment firm is seeking a Vice President – Valuations & Portfolio Monitoring to lead valuation, portfolio analytics, and investor reporting across private equity and private credit investment strategies. This highly visible role partners closely with investment professionals, finance, investor relations, legal, and compliance teams to oversee quarterly valuations, portfolio company reporting, and limited partner communications.
The ideal candidate will bring deep valuation expertise, strong analytical skills, and leadership experience within private markets.
Responsibilities- Lead the quarterly valuation process across private equity and private credit portfolios.
- Review valuation methodologies, key assumptions, comparable company analyses, precedent transactions, and third-party valuation reports.
- Present valuation conclusions and key findings to senior leadership and valuation committees.
- Partner with investment professionals and portfolio company finance teams to monitor operating and financial performance.
- Manage portfolio reporting platforms and analyze key performance trends, investment performance, and portfolio risks.
- Oversee preparation of quarterly and annual investor reporting materials, including valuation commentary and portfolio performance updates.
- Support fundraising efforts, investor due diligence requests, and ad hoc analyses in partnership with Investor Relations.
- Analyze fund and portfolio performance, including performance attribution and valuation trends.
- Drive enhancements to valuation processes, portfolio analytics, reporting frameworks, and technology solutions.
- Lead and mentor junior professionals while collaborating across Investment, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Investor Relations teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or professional designation (CPA, CFA, MBA, etc.) is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in valuation, portfolio analytics, transaction advisory, investment management, or private markets.
- Strong experience valuing private equity and/or private credit investments.
- Deep understanding of valuation methodologies, financial modeling, and financial statement analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with financial data platforms such as Bloomberg, Fact Set, Capital IQ, or similar research tools.
- Experience with portfolio monitoring systems such as iLEVEL is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Prior experience managing or mentoring junior professionals is preferred.
