Job Description

Stelvio Private Wealth is a boutique Wealth Management firm formed in 2021, which transitioned out of the Private Client Group at Wells Fargo Advisors. Stelvio Private Wealth has offices in Greenwich, CT and the Bay Area, CA and touts private clients in 42 states.

It operates through Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, LLC (WFAFN), a member of SIPC, and a registered broker-dealer.

This is a full‑time entry‑to‑mid‑level role for a Wealth Tax Associate. The role will take on a Hybrid schedule, with in‑office days occurring in either Greenwich, CT or Walnut Creek, CA depending on where the applicant is domiciled. The Wealth Tax Associate will work closely with the Managing Partner and is ideal for someone who is a self‑starter. Through that close partnership, the Associate will be responsible for collaborating on tax planning activities, as well as pertinent tax filings for a select contingent of clients.

This also leads to collaboration in financial plan activities and upkeep. The Associate is expected to have a preferred tax software with relevant experience in it and will quickly gather an understanding of how we work closely with our clients.

  • Serve as a Trusted Advocate of the Managing Partner
  • Spearhead timely tax filings with the IRS and the clients’ respective state(s)
  • Assist in facilitating client relations, data collection, analysis, and tax‑related documents
  • Assist Managing Partner with action plans and action items specific to an individual client, and be present, available and active in client reviews where tax circumstances may apply
  • Conduct analysis of tax changes, recommend actions for optimization, and perform ongoing analysis as required by the Managing Partner
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures and perform business functions with focus on consistency, quality, and compliance
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a tax associate (or similar) role (minimum 2 years)
  • Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or active EA (Enrolled Agent)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or related field is a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with accounting and bookkeeping software
  • Interest in Finance, Financial Planning, Investment Management and Wealth Management beyond one’s assumed interest in Accounting
  • Strong analytical skills and investment knowledge
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills & excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and exercise discretion without immediate supervision at all times
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and assignments in a deadline‑oriented environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality while being professional and poised
