A well-established community bank is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Credit Officer to join its Commercial Lending team. This position will play a key role in underwriting and managing a diverse commercial loan portfolio, with exposure to both Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) transactions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial credit fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to work closely with commercial lenders on structuring, underwriting, and managing credit relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Underwrite new and existing commercial credit relationships, including CRE, C&I, commercial mortgage, and construction transactions.
- Partner with commercial lenders throughout the credit process, including initial deal structuring, term sheet review, underwriting, approval, and closing.
- Analyze borrower and guarantor financial statements, cash flow, collateral, industry conditions, and other relevant credit factors.
- Perform global cash-flow analysis, sensitivity analysis, stress testing, and risk-rating assessments.
- Prepare credit presentations for new transactions, renewals, modifications, and annual reviews.
- Manage ongoing credit risk within an assigned portfolio, including covenant compliance, borrowing-base calculations, collateral monitoring, and other servicing requirements.
- Review the work of junior credit analysts and provide underwriting and structuring guidance.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial banking experience involving underwriting, portfolio management, loan administration, and/or relationship management, with a strong emphasis on financial analysis.
- Formal commercial credit training or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience underwriting CRE and C&I transactions.
