A global systematic investment manager is adding a Securities Valuation Associate to the group that owns its valuation oversight function across U.S. mutual funds, UCITS, private funds and separate accounts. The group holds end-to-end responsibility for the valuation framework, covering governance, methodology oversight, escalation and the control environment. This hire joins as the platform grows in scale and complexity and will help shape the future state of the valuation operating model.
What you'll do:
Run daily and periodic valuation work end to end, including evaluating complex and less liquid positions, challenging third-party prices and working through pricing exceptions. Prepare valuation committee materials and support fair value determinations through the firm's governance process. Review valuation methodologies, assumptions and model inputs, including unobservable inputs. Oversee pricing vendors and service providers through due diligence, methodology review and ongoing monitoring, and run the price challenge and escalation process.
Maintain the control and documentation framework that supports SEC Rule 2a-5 and UCITS requirements. Work with auditors on valuation reviews. Spot process gaps and build the enhancements that strengthen controls and scale the function across asset classes and vehicles. Partner daily with fund treasury, risk, compliance, operations, portfolio management, legal and fund administrators.
What you'll need:
2 to 5 years in securities pricing, valuation or valuation oversight at an asset manager, hedge fund, bank, fund administrator or Big 4 valuation practice. Hands-on experience evaluating and challenging models, assumptions and pricing inputs. Working knowledge of corporate actions and how they flow into daily pricing, including rights offerings, spin-offs, mergers and SPACs. Derivatives knowledge sufficient to set up and value positions, including building vendor request files and templates.
Familiarity with SEC Rule 2a-5, with UCITS valuation exposure a plus. Experience working with auditors, pricing vendors and administrators. Strong SQL, Excel, Python and Bloomberg skills, with Data Scope, S&P PV and Fund Run a plus.
Compensation:
$100K to $125K base plus annual discretionary bonus.
