The Food and Beverage Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at Indian Harbor Yacht Club in Greenwich, CT. This position oversees day-to-day dining operations, including managing staff schedules, directing front-of-house service, and ensuring a high standard of hospitality in all club dining areas and events. The supervisor coordinates with the culinary team to deliver consistent food quality, monitors inventory and supplies, and supports bar service standards.
Responsibilities include training and coaching team members, handling member inquiries, assisting with event setup and execution, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and club policies. The role requires a hands-on approach and active presence on the floor during service to support smooth operations and an excellent member experience.
- Experience in food and beverage operations, including supervising front-of-house teams in restaurants, clubs, or hotels.
- Strong skills in customer service, hospitality, and relationship-building with members and guests.
- Ability to oversee daily service logistics, including staff scheduling, floor management, and coordination with kitchen and bar teams.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and compliance with local health regulations.
- Proficiency in basic point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling, and inventory monitoring.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to train, motivate, and mentor staff to uphold service standards.
- Prior experience in private club, resort, or high-end dining environments is preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on club events and dining needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or related coursework is a plus.
