Operator role is responsible for contract execution from start to finish, entry into system, logistics as well as thorough documentation, customs clearance, invoicing and pricing. This role will have active communications with all internal departments
- Traders, Finance and Systems. This position will work with a more senior Operator as a mentor and resource.
- Responsible for daily contact with suppliers, receivers, and service providers
- Point of contact to prepare shipments of physical commodities for customers and suppliers and prepare/handle all shipping documents
- Arrange for Customs Clearance for Imports and Exports
- Issue and receive releases to and from international warehouses
- Preparing invoices according to terms of payments within Holding Certificates, CAD, Bank Collections, Open Account
- Ensuring cargos while observing and maintaining payment terms, holding certificates, CAD, L/C’s, Bank Collections, Bank reporting requirements in conjunction with GMI Finance
- Utilize a sound understanding of incoterms in preparing and organizing shipments
- Declare pricing (Quotational Periods) to suppliers and/or customers in line with contract requirements Organize and coordinate shipments by vessel, truck, rail, multimodal through direct contact with shipping lines, warehouses, owners and brokers
- Obtain freight quotes and vendor services
- Reconcile inventory by comparing stock reports issued by the warehouses against Balsamo
- Ongoing maintenance of credit lines, shipping lists, debtor reports and Exposure Records as required
- Create contracts with suppliers and customers;
Create contracts promptly upon business creation with suppliers and customers - Overall system maintenance of Balsamo
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics, or related field or a related subject
- 1-2 Years of experience working in Finance or Business
- Understanding of geography, running shipments efficiently, shipping logistics
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn new software
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
