We are seeking a strategic and hands‑on Senior Manager, Product Development, to lead the creation and commercialization of innovative hair care and skincare products. This is a high‑impact leadership role for a product development professional who brings strong technical expertise, cross‑functional leadership, and the ability to guide complex initiatives from concept through launch.
In this role, you will oversee end‑to‑end product development across multiple categories, partnering with internal teams, external laboratories, contract manufacturers, and key stakeholders to bring high‑performance products to market. You will play a central role in shaping product pipelines, maintaining quality and regulatory standards, and ensuring programs are delivered on time, on budget, and in alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead development of innovative hair care products including shampoos, conditioners, treatments, scalp care, and styling solutions, while supporting skincare development as needed.
- Drive product development from ideation through commercialization across multiple categories and brands.
- Collaborate with R&D, packaging, manufacturing, regulatory, and marketing teams to deliver products that meet performance, cost, quality, and sustainability objectives.
- Manage multiple concurrent launches, including timelines, budgets, deliverables, and risk mitigation.
- Review formulas, product submissions, cost estimates, BOMs, and testing plans to support successful launches and replenishment programs.
- Present product concepts, ingredient innovations, and emerging technologies to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide leadership to cross‑functional teams and external partners, fostering accountability and collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Product Development, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of product development experience, ideally within beauty, personal care, skincare, hair care, or consumer goods.
- Strong knowledge of formulations, raw materials, packaging, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable language.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and project management tools; familiarity with PLM systems such as Asana is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
This is a full‑time, onsite position based Monday through Friday in Greenwich, Connecticut.
