** this position is responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with the public by utilizing strategic plans provided by management.
** primary duties and*
* ** responsibilities
* * include but not limited to:responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with the public by utilizing strategic plans provided by management
* support the public relations managers with the writing, researching and preparation of materials
* maintains contacts and responds to inquiries
* conduct media relations and respond to media requests for information
* write press releases and other materials while utilizing seo practices
* use various social media platforms for media and blogger outreach
* monitor company’s mentions throughout all areas of communication
** secondary duties and responsibilities:
*** organize and conduct media tours and photo/video escorts
* prepare media history and necessary information for briefings
* issue materials to internal organizations and media via the online newsroom
* analyze various channels for communication
* support the coordination and execution of special events
** minimum education and qualifications:
*** bachelors’ degree in communications or a related field
* one year of experience working in public or media relations
* knowledge of web 2.0 concepts, techniques and trends
* excellent writing and verbal communication skills
* intermediate computer skills in word, excel and outlook
* in lieu of a degree four years of experience in public relations may be considered
** competencies:

* displays creativity, initiative and good judgment
* decision-making, problem-solving and research skills
** training requirements:
*** knowledge of administrator abilities related to wordpress
** physical demands and work environment:
*** office work environment
* must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
* off-site travel is required
