The part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN) will address the behavioral health needs of clients by conducting psychiatric evaluation, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.
Duties and Responsibilities- Uses current evidence-based practice, research and clinical knowledge to improve patient outcomes and reduce complications.
- Conducts mental health histories and assessments.
- Formulates behavioral health treatment plan and manages acute and chronic mental health needs.
- Maintains clients’ records by reviewing case notes, logging events and progress.
- Documents in accordance with all regulatory requirements made by licensing and third-party agencies.
- Completes other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor that are consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
- Master’s degree in nursing.
- Graduation from accredited master’s level Nurse Practitioner program with a specialty in psychiatry.
- Licensed to practice as a nurse practitioner in Connecticut.
