Client Relationship Manager, Business Development
You understand what it takes to cultivate a relationship with an individual whose net worth exceeds a billion dollars — and you know how to secure their confidence in a deeply personal, high-stakes decision affecting their child's future. That's what this role demands. If your default approach is to "manage applications" or "optimize conversion funnels," you won't succeed here. If, instead, you take full ownership of relationships and nurture them over years, this could be the most meaningful position you've held.
Founders School is a four-year secondary program in which students create genuine businesses targeting $1 million in profit by the time they graduate. Annual tuition stands at $150,000, backed by a guarantee: $1 million in profit by graduation, or full tuition reimbursement. The program begins in New York City in fall 2026 with a founding cohort of 20 students, with plans to expand toward 1,000.
The families we serve rank among the world's most accomplished and selective — many hold net worths in the hundreds of millions or billions. Every single one of those relationships must be owned, from initial outreach through enrollment and well beyond.
This role resembles investor relations at an elite fund far more than it does traditional private school admissions. You'll steward a portfolio of high-net-worth prospects, guide them through a rigorous engagement process, shepherd them to commitment, and sustain the relationship over time so trust deepens and compounds — leading to re-enrollment, sibling enrollment, and active referrals.
What You Will Be Doing- Managing the entire pipeline of qualified prospective families — whether inbound inquiries, event-sourced leads, or referrals, each becomes a substantive relationship you steward personally. This includes regular phone conversations, considered follow-up, and ensuring you either have the answer to every question or secure it without delay.
- Organizing and hosting events that unite prospective and enrolled families — ranging from broader informational sessions to curated dinners and intimate receptions.
- Leading families through the application and due-diligence process — articulating the school's model, the profit guarantee, and the educational pathway, and guiding them from curiosity to enrollment without resorting to aggressive sales tactics.
- Maintaining continuous engagement across the family ecosystem — those deliberating, those enrolled, and those whose younger children may join in future years. You'll initiate contact proactively, ensuring families hear from you before needing to reach out.
- Serving as the principal point of human contact for Founders School among these families, and designing the scalable relationship and enrollment infrastructure that enables the program to operate and expand.
- Collaborating directly with school leadership, who handle the most senior-tier conversations early on, while you establish the operational framework beneath them.
Much like a fund, the calendar operates in two phases: an active cycle during which you cultivate relationships with prospective families and guide them toward commitment, and a stewardship cycle in which you keep enrolled families engaged, informed, and satisfied enough to renew trust and introduce others.
What You Won’t Be Doing- Selling in the traditional sense. There are no commissions, quotas, or pressure tactics. If a family perceives any coercion, we have failed. You are not a salesperson; you are their most trusted advisor in this decision.
- Managing artificial scarcity. Traditional admissions offices are gatekeepers at institutions with 4% acceptance rates. We are building something entirely new and persuading exceptional families to take a calculated risk on it.
- Transferring families to others and exiting the relationship. The relationship begins at deposit, not ends — it is a multi-year engagement you will own continuously.
- Being consumed by administrative logistics. Scheduling, documentation, and enrollment paperwork are managed by operations. Your focus remains squarely on families.
