Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Service Technician to join our growing Service Department. This critical, hands‑on role is responsible for the on‑site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our advanced video surveillance systems at client properties nationwide. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude in low‑voltage cabling and networking, excellent problem solving, commitment to customer service, and ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Job Functions
  • On‑Site Service & Installation:
    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve service tickets quickly and professionally at client sites, addressing issues related to network connectivity, equipment malfunctions, or physical damage.
    • Install, configure, and service a variety of security equipment including, but not limited to, IP and analog CCTV cameras, digital video recorders (DVRs), network switches, and wireless radios.
    • Execute low‑voltage cabling tasks, including running, fishing, and pulling cables, while strictly adhering to local codes, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Verify complete system functionality by testing all equipment, connections, and signals using a laptop and specialized tools.
  • Technical Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
    • Utilize site and network maps to efficiently understand and navigate client infrastructure.
    • Identify and correct issues with cameras, computers, wiring, and other miscellaneous surveillance equipment.
    • Perform physically demanding tasks, including digging trenches for conduit, and moving/lifting materials weighing up to 90 pounds, with or without assistance.
  • Documentation & Coordination:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records by documenting all work completed and updating service tickets in real‑time within the designated system.
    • Coordinate effectively with in‑house service teams to facilitate on‑site repairs, system cleaning, and equipment installation or replacement.
    • Maintain and routinely update assigned equipment inventory.
    • Coordinate regularly scheduled maintenance for the assigned company vehicle.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Comfortably and safely use various hand tools and perform work at heights, including climbing and multitasking on ladders during site evaluation and repair.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience & Technical Expertise:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in low‑voltage/structured cabling installation or service.
    • Proven knowledge of CCTV equipment, including various camera types (IP & analog) and networking components.
    • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, routing, Wi‑Fi).
    • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in troubleshooting PC hardware and software.
  • Customer Service & Professionalism:
    • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly understand and execute work plans.
  • Work Ethic & Autonomy:
    • Self‑motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
    • Enjoys hands‑on problem‑solving in a fast‑paced work environment.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective decision‑making abilities.

  • Requirements:
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Education & Salary

Minimum

Education Required:

High School/GED.

Salary Range: $60,000‑$75,000.
