Dominique DeMarco Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
We're a well-established property management company serving homeowner associations and large master-planned communities across the Denver Front Range. Our hands‑on, experienced team takes a proactive approach to enhancing every community we serve, and we've posted double-digit growth for several years running as we land larger, more sophisticated clients. As we scale, we're investing in our accounting team to keep pace.
Why join us:
- Join a growing company that’s landing bigger, more complex clients
- Real accounting work: build budgets for large-scale communities with multiple assessment rates and phased assessments, month end, journal entries, financial statements, etc..
- Established team of 16+ accounting professionals with strong processes in place
- Wonderful leadership - warm, supportive, sharp, and strong EQ
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for an assigned portfolio of community associations, hitting a consistent monthly close deadline. - Budgeting:
Build and maintain annual budgets, including for large-scale, master‑planned communities with multiple product types, differing assessment rates, and budgets that evolve over time as new homes come online. - Assessments & Collections:
Support the assessment billing and collections process, ensuring accurate posting and reconciliation of homeowner payments. - Vendor & AP Support:
Process and reconcile vendor payments tied to community operations. - Account Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts monthly; research and resolve discrepancies. - Client Communication:
Respond to routine financial questions from community boards and, over time, present and explain financial statements directly to clients. - Process & Systems:
Maintain accurate records in our accounting platform; flag opportunities to improve efficiency as the portfolio and complexity grow. - Cross-Team
Collaboration:
Partner with community managers and internal teams to ensure financials reflect what's actually happening in each community.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
- 2+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience; no CPA required.
- No HOA, metro district, or property management background required, general accounting fundamentals are what matter.
- Comfortable producing a full set of financials, not just data entry.
- Ability to manage multiple, moderately complex budgets simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with deadline‑driven monthly close cycles.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office/Excel.
- Clear, professional communication skills; comfort growing into client‑facing conversations.
