Senior Manager, Transactional Tax

Our client, a large and growing national organization, is seeking a Senior Manager, Transaction Tax to join its finance leadership team. This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing tax function within a complex, multi-entity environment while partnering closely with accounting, finance, technology, and operational stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in indirect taxation, proven leadership experience, and a passion for process improvement, compliance, and team development.

• Lead and develop a team of tax professionals responsible for indirect tax compliance and reporting activities.
• Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of various state and local tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage tax audits, notices, inquiries, and related risk mitigation efforts.
• Strengthen internal controls and support compliance initiatives, including SOX-related activities.
• Conduct technical tax research and provide guidance on complex tax matters.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential business impact.
• Partner cross-functionally with finance, accounting, operations, and technology teams.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements.
• Develop scalable processes that support organizational growth while maintaining compliance.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive indirect tax experience.
• Prior experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong knowledge of multistate tax compliance and tax research.
• Experience supporting audits and regulatory examinations.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with ERP systems, tax technology solutions, and data analytics tools preferred.
