Project Manager – Heavy Civil (CDOT Bridge Projects)
Denver Metro Area, CO (Onsite) $100,000 – $140,000base + Benefits
About the OpportunityWe’ve partnered with a well-established, Colorado-based heavy civil contractor with a strong pipeline of CDOT-funded bridge and infrastructure projects
. Due to an upcoming senior-level departure, the team is looking to bring on an experienced Project Manager with direct CDOT bridge experience who can step in quickly and own projects from start to finish.
This role is ideal for a seasoned PM who understands the realities of DOT bridge work, from pre-construction and documentation to field execution and closeout, and is looking for a stable, long‑term opportunity with a respected infrastructure-focused organization.
What You’ll Be Doing- Lead CDOT bridge and heavy civil projects from pre‑construction through completion
- Manage project budgets, schedules, cost controls, and overall profitability
- Coordinate and lead project teams including superintendents, field engineers, and subcontractors
- Oversee CDOT documentation
, pay applications, change orders, and compliance reporting - Work directly with CDOT resident engineers, inspectors, and design partners
- Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to identify risks and value‑engineering opportunities
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence
- Support estimating, bidding, and pre‑construction efforts as needed
- 8+years of experience as a Project Manager in heavy civil or bridge construction
- Direct CDOT bridge project experience (required)
- Strong knowledge of CDOT specifications, pay items, and reporting processes
- Proven experience managing projects valued up to $30M
- Background in bridge construction, structural concrete, retaining walls, or similar infrastructure
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with project management and construction software (HCSS, Procore, or similar)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
This role is not suited for vertical building PMs
This role is not a fit for general civil PMs without bridge experience
