CSP Ministry Associate - Denver Campus

Position Overview:

TheCSP Ministry Associate – Denver Campus serves as a pastoral presence for Concordia University, St. Paul at its Denver Campus, cultivating spiritual care, community well-being, and mission-centered support for students, faculty, and staff. This role embeds Concordia's Christ-centered Lutheran identity throughout campus life through CSP ministry leadership, crisis care, relational support, and cross-department collaboration—particularly within the Health Science programs.

This position strengthens student resilience, advances spiritual formation, and ensures a visible, accessible ministry presence at the Denver campus.

• Public Ministry & Campus Gatherings
  • Provide pastoral leadership at key institutional moments.
  • Preside at Denver campus graduation ceremonies (three times per year).
  • Participate in the Denver campus student orientation, which includes mission-centered elements such as the Blessing of the Hands.
  • Provide spiritual leadership within faculty and staff environments, as invited.
  • Represent CSP in selected community, church, or partner engagements in the Denver region.
• Crisis Response & Pastoral Care
  • Offer compassionate pastoral care within a high-stress academic context.
  • Provide responsive pastoral support, crisis care, prayer, and counseling for students, faculty, and staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with the University Pastor, CSP Ministry Team, VP for Faith & Ministry, Dean of Nursing, Academic Advisors, and ABSN faculty to coordinate spiritual support during peak-stress periods (e.g., midterms, finals).
• Pastoral Presence & Wellness Ministry
  • Sustain a proactive ministry of encouragement, spiritual care, and community support.
  • Evaluate and implement Bible study for students, faculty, and staff at the Denver campus.
  • Maintain regular drop-in pastoral availability for confidential conversation, prayer, and support.
  • Build a consistent ministry presence through CSP communication and engagement platforms.
  • Promote student well-being, belonging, and spiritual resilience through relational ministry, visible presence, and proactive encouragement.
• Pastoral care and crisis response in high-intensity academic environments
• Spiritual leadership, public prayer, and worship support
• Cross-functional collaboration in academic and clinical training contexts
• Relational ministry with diverse students
• Ability to communicate effectively across digital platform
• Commitment to CSP’s Christ-centered Lutheran mission and identity

• Rostered and ordained LCMS pastor
• Experience in pastoral care, campus ministry, student services, or higher education preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively within academic, clinical, and ministry environments
• Strong commitment to student flourishing, spiritual care, and mission integration
• Ability to travel locally and maintain flexibility for occasional evening/weekend responsibilities
