Job Title: Art Instructor/Master Instructor - Watercolor
Department: Parks, Trails & Recreation
Supervisor: Cultural Arts Coordinator or Recreation Manager
SALARY: $31.50 per hour
This is a part-time/hourly position
BENEFITS: Partially benefited. Partially benefited part-time employees earn 1 sick leave hour for every 30 hours worked. Up to 48 hours can be rolled over per year.
REMOTE/HYBRID: Typical schedules are in-person at Greenwood Village facilities.

About the RoleAs a Watercolor Instructor or Master Instructor, you will provide cultural arts instruction in a variety of classes, programs, and workshops, including Watercolor Studio and other arts and crafts activities. These positions are part-time and involve minimal hours, offering flexibility for professionals passionate about sharing their expertise.
Instructor roles focus on beginner to intermediate instruction requiring minimal teaching experience.
Master Instructor roles are reserved for highly experienced artists offering advanced workshops with rigorous curriculum and in-depth study.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop lesson plans and lead classes to accomplish objectives.
- Provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
- Communicate with students, parents, and supervisors regarding class progress and feedback.
- Set up and clean up classrooms; take attendance and distribute evaluations.
- Design, schedule, and conduct classes in Watercolor Studio and other art programs.
- Request and manage supplies for classes.
- Perform related duties as required, including general communication and supply management.
- Principles and procedures of instruction.
- Expertise in assigned area of instruction (watercolor and other arts).
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college-level degree in a related field preferred.
- Background and ability to instruct arts classes.
- For Master Instructor:
Extensive teaching experience and mastery of watercolor techniques; typically represented by an art gallery and recognized in the art community. - Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
Work is performed indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions. May involve evenings, weekends, and occasional extended hours.
