JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of a licensed staff member, assist students by helping individuals or small groups of students with basic curriculum work, implementing programming, reinforcing learning skills and reinforcing discipline procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. The approximation of frequencies and time allocation percentages are flexible and subject to the requirements of the organization.   • Assist classroom teachers in prepping materials, administering tests, grading, attendance, etc. Assist with paperwork and documentation as needed — Frequency:
    Daily;
    Time: 15%
  • Assist students with classroom activities. Assist with curriculum delivery to individuals, as well as small and large groups to ensure mastering of subjects — Frequency:
    Daily;
    Time: 40%
  • Monitor students and reinforce appropriate behavior during various activities such as play, lunch, recess, and detention — Frequency:
    Daily;
    Time: 20%
  • Assist with other classroom events, such as field trips or fire drills, as necessary — Frequency:
    Monthly;
    Time: 5%
  • Attend grade-level and school meetings to assess data and plan lessons accordingly — Frequency:
    Daily;
    Time: 15%
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested — Frequency:
    Daily;
    Time: 5%
  • REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
    This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.

    • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
    • Ability to work with adults in a team setting
    • Current Cherry Creek School District student
    • Basic clerical skills
    • Basic organizational Skills
    • Ability to work one-on-one or in small or large groups of students or teachers
    • Basic communication skills
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

    Formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses,endorsements, designations, trainings, and other qualifications relevant to the position that are strongly preferred but not mandatory for a candidate to be considered.
