Responsibilities
- Cultivate new and existing business relationships by engaging in client pursuits,RFP's, and interviews; positively promote Company to external business partners and contacts
- Establish and foster positive long-term relationships with all business partners including owners, architects, engineers and trade partners
- Cultivate and manage relationships with new and existing clients;
Provide client with accurate estimates and value engineering - Assume single responsibility for larger, complex projects; assume overall responsibility for the preconstruction stage of each project
- Responsible for creating detailed project budgets at conceptual, SD, DD and CD stages through all delivery models
- Identify tasks to be accomplished to satisfy contractual requirements
- Ensures estimates, schedules, constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, cost report planning and purchase planning efforts and documents meet detail, schedule and quality requirements.
- Provide overall Preconstruction effort oversight and lead a project team and project solutions
- Manage estimating process through initial advertising/prequalification and solicitation of trade partners, bid evaluation process and award
- Coordinating with multiple departments to complete Preconstruction effort at all drawing milestones and ensuring other departments have required information to perform their duties
- Interfaces with Owner, Architect/Engineers and trade partners to resolve technical matters during design or prebid, and provides engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
- Organize departmental team so that each estimator involved knows responsibilities and deadlines
- Cultivates and manages relationships with new and existing clients.
- Perform value engineering and life-cycle costing
- Develop and write all bid packages and trade partners scopes of work
- Coordinates with Project Manager in award of subcontracts and writes all subcontracts
- Mentors and develops junior estimators across app phases of preconstruction
- Other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred
Experience10+ years of estimating for general commercial construction
Experience estimating in the markets of K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, Advanced Technology, and Civic
Technical Skills- Proficient in use of estimating software, Destini or Planswift preferred
- Able to read drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards
- Knowledge of construction costs, project budgeting, vendor selection, client proposals and owner/architect/general contractor industry expertise.
- Successful completion of post-offer background & drug screen
- All positions at GH Phipps are considered safety sensitive. Position may be required to visit a construction site at any time
- In person, regular attendance required
The salary range for this position is$118,000 – 130,000 annuallyand is dependent in experience and title/rankof position offered.

Our compensation package includes a competitive salary, participation in our employee stock ownership program (ESOP) on your first day of hire, and eligibility in our annual bonus program.

Both ESOP and bonuses are calculated on one’s eligible compensation for the year.
