Systems Engineer
We are seeking a 12‑month contract RF Engineer in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The RF Engineer plans, designs, deploys, and supports large‑scale, complex systems that include enterprise infrastructure, information systems, ERP applications, and advanced network technologies. This role spans both software and hardware environments and works closely with non‑technical business stakeholders to translate business needs into reliable, scalable technical solutions. The position also provides hands‑on operational, engineering, and field support for inside and outside plant systems, enterprise customers, and multi‑site network deployments.
Pay: $41‑$55/hr depending on years of experience. This position requires 5 days a week onsite on the east side of Greenwood Village.
- Systems Design, Integration, and Engineering
- Plan, design, and deploy large‑scale, complex systems including enterprise infrastructure, information systems, ERP platforms, and internet technologies.
- Evaluate existing systems to understand capabilities, identify deficiencies, and recommend technical solutions.
- Develop and manage systems integration projects across software and hardware components.
- Participate in the layout design, installation, and modification of new and existing systems.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system and network performance issues.
- Outside Plant (OSP) Maintenance and Repair
- Maintain and repair wires, coax, and fiber from hub sites to customer connection points.
- Monitor, locate, report, and remediate signal leakage in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Perform proactive and reactive network maintenance activities.
- Inside Plant (ISP) Operations and Compliance
- Install, configure, operate, and support legacy and next‑generation headend equipment.
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly testing and logging per company guidelines.
- Ensure cabling, equipment installation, power, and cooling meet corporate and FCC standards.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation to ensure regulatory and company compliance.
- Advanced Field Installations & Enterprise Support
- Survey, install, configure, and maintain complex network solutions for large enterprise customers.
- Implement large, multi‑site network projects including edge device configuration and optical connectivity.
- 5–10 years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting complex enterprise systems and networks.
- 3+ years of experience in RF Engineering.
- Hands‑on experience with both software and hardware components in large‑scale environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, systems integration, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
- 3+ years of headend technician experience.
- Telecommunications installation and maintenance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Valid NCTI Fiber Installation & Activation course completion within 6 months (external candidates or internal candidates outside Network Technology Services).
- Industry certifications such as NCTI Master Technician, HFC Networks, SCTE Business Class Service Specialist, Cisco CCENT or CCNA.
