Job Description & How to Apply Below

Every highway, interchange, and intersection you've ever driven through started as a set of plans on someone's desk or a digital model on their computer. At Stolfus & Associates, that someone could be you.

We're looking for a curious, motivated Transportation Engineering EIT with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our Greenwood Village team. You'll work side by side with experienced engineers on real projects that shape how people move through Colorado, from busy urban intersections to rural roadways and everything in between.

This isn't a role where you'll spend years waiting for meaningful work. One of our core values is a Growth Mindset: we persist, we learn, and we get better, and that starts on day one. You'll be designing, modeling, and problem-solving right away, with mentors invested in helping you grow into the engineer you want to become. Around here we like to say we're experts developing experts.

Collaboration isn't a buzzword on our wall; it's how the work actually gets done.

What You'll Get to Do
  • Help design highways, interchanges, roadways, intersections, and multimodal facilities that people across Colorado rely on every day
  • Put your creativity and technical skills to work developing studies, plans, and construction packages for a variety of interesting projects
  • Build your design skills through hands-on work: drawings, layouts, quantity calculations, and geometric evaluations
  • Take ownership of your own assignments as you grow, with experienced engineers guiding you through the trickier stuff. Being Responsible is one of our values, and to us that means following through on your work and speaking up when something doesn't look right, even when it's hard
  • Get out from behind the desk with occasional site visits and field observation
  • Team up with other EITs, swap ideas, and learn from each other as you all grow together. We're better together, and we mean it
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • You've passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
  • 2 to 4 years of civil engineering experience under your belt
  • Comfortable with Micro Station Open Roads (ORD) or AutoCAD Civil 3D, plus the everyday Microsoft Office tools
  • A clear communicator who can translate technical details for anyone, from fellow engineers to clients
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the initiative to run with things and the judgment to know when to ask questions
  • Honest and accountable: someone who speaks the truth, owns their work, and treats colleagues and clients with compassion
  • Excited about making Colorado's roads safer and better for the people who use them every day
  • Up for occasional travel when a project calls for it
Why You'll Love Working Here

We Value People First. That's not just a line in our handbook; it's one of our five core values, and it shapes everything from how we mentor to how we build our benefits. Here's what's in it for you:

  • Competitive pay: $80,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience
  • Health insurance with your premium fully paid by the company
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with up to a 4% company match
  • Ten paid holidays plus your own paid time off (PTO) to recharge
  • 8 hours of paid volunteer time each year, because Give Back is another value we live by, and building community matters to us as much as building roads
  • An RTD Eco Pass so getting around town is one less thing to think about
  • Performance and spot bonuses that recognize great work when it happens
Ready to Build What's Next?

Our purpose is simple: make communities safer and enhance quality of life for all. If you're excited about growing your engineering career with a team that will invest in you, and you want your work to make a visible, lasting difference in how Coloradans get where they're going, we'd love to hear from you.
