SR. RELIABILITY ARCHITECT (SPEED-TEST)

The Select Group is currently hiring for a Reliability Architect to join as a resource for one of our clients within the Telecommunications industry that will be working a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite) sitting in Denver, CO. This Reliability Architect will be responsible for overseeing the enhancement of this organization's main speed test platforms by providing technical leadership to identify, address, and enhance speed test network or application issues that arise.

TSG's client currently hosts 28 million customers on their network, therefore this team is responsible for speed testing modems for each and every customer! The goal of this role is to act as a Senior level resource that can support current Principal Engineer and Data Science teams to address any speed test enhancements or reliability issues of the speed test tools that to ensure a successful speed test process moving into 2025 and beyond.

SR. RELIABILITY ARCHITECT (SPEED-TEST) REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a minimum of 5 years of Site-Reliability Engineering/Reliability Engineering experience within an enterprise level environment (Fortune 500 level of employees). Preferably targeting 5-12 years of professional experience with similar experiences and responsibilities to the job description.

Proficient in conducting speed tests – proven ability and experience testing speeds on modems and/or networking routers and switches along with related networking technologies including SD-WAN platforms.

Familiarity with a variety of speed test platforms/apps ideally but not required:
Ookla Speedtest, Real Speed/Sam Knows, and Modem Speed Test Service (MSTS).

Possesses the ability to address and resolve critical network and application issues to ensure successful speed test results.

Experience diagnosing and identifying network performance issues using ideally iPERf open-source command line tools supporting protocols such as: UDP, TCP, and SCTP.

Industry experience with a large Telecommunications provider either in the Satellite or Wireless networking space.

SR. RELIABILITY ARCHITECT (SPEED-TEST) RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support speed testing efforts, overseeing daily support/troubleshooting of speed testing tools and platforms, triaging, and running tests directly to identify network speed issues as well.

Review previous test data provided by the Data Science and Analysis teams to identify risks or inconsistencies to proactively identify issues that may arise down the line.

Present speed testing, Reliability Engineering, and networking expertise to a team that requires a high level of expertise to move into the next level of efficiency.

Conduct speed tests first-hand using primarily Ookla Speedtest, Sam Knowns, and proprietary MSTS as the team needs or at your discretion.
