At a Glance- You're a motivated student with a current 3.0 GPA or higher currently pursuing a degree in one of the following areas from an accredited college or university:
- Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering Technology Management, Information Science, Journalism
- This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship designed to give you real-world experience and meaningful exposure to the telecommunications industry in your chosen field.
- Internship program runs from May 26 through August 6, 2027.
- In addition to role‑specific projects, you'll take part in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, mentorship and experiences that help you grow personally and professionally.

As a Spectrum intern, you'll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort.
Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross‑functional projects and final presentations.
This experience is designed to help you explore your interests, expand your network and leave with a deeper understanding of both your field and the impact of our business.
Internship responsibilities may include:
Spectrum News’s Product and Technology teams play a critical role in supporting our network of local news stations across the U.S., delivering critical news and information to audiences 24/7. In addition to keeping the news on the air, they help innovate and support cutting‑edge platforms to elevate our journalism and reach audiences wherever they get their news.
- The Future of News Production:
Learn about the tools and tech we use to produce best‑in‑class newscasts, such as our newsroom content system, media archives, VR/AR, graphics, and more. - Cutting‑Edge Product Development:
Gain insight into how we develop and continually iterate on products like our mobile app, connected TV apps, and news websites to provide the best possible audience experience. - Critical Safety and Maintenance:
From troubleshooting issues in real time to enforcing cybersecurity, learn about how our teams take essential steps every day to keep our extensive network of news stations safe and operating smoothly. - Innovation Across Spectrum:
As Spectrum News is part of the larger Spectrum organization providing internet, TV, voice, mobile, and more services, you’ll have a window into software engineering, product design, and more tech innovations across the whole company.
- Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor’s degree
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
