We’re looking to expand our team across the board and offer an engineering internship program that provides dedicated mentoring, a tailored training program, and challenging, scope‑bound projects.
Responsibilities- Contribute to operations of a high‑fidelity spacecraft
- Operate multiple on‑orbit spacecraft ensuring health and safety of spacecraft and execution of mission objectives
- Collaborate with engineering subject matter experts to ensure health of spacecraft subsystems, execute commissioning and mission activities, and troubleshoot anomalies
- Contribute to process improvement and tool development
- Execute a time‑bound, well‑defined project which is of high value to York
- Collaborate with team members, management, and customers to ensure projects are completed to standard
- Identify risks and form contingency plans as soon as possible
- Communicate with the team about challenges, failures, and successes
- Enrollment in a 4‑year degree program at an accredited university studying engineering
- Must have completed at least freshman year of the degree program
- Ability to commit to full‑time on‑site for the duration of the internship (40+ hours/week)
- Willing to work a shift schedule, supporting 24/7 operations
- Strong communicator, great team player and overall hard worker
- Self‑starter and self‑motivated with a hunger to learn
- An interest in full‑time employment at York Space Systems
- Demonstrated interest in spacecraft and space systems
- Willing and able to work in our Greenwood Village, CO office (this is not a remote internship)
- Able to start late August or early September 2026
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States
- Experience in the following languages and operating systems:
Python, C, SQL, Linux - Experience in data‑driven processes and operations to establish autonomous solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in a team environment
- Familiar with procedures, anomaly documentation, and debugging
- Active security clearance
