Commercial Builder Project Manager

Job Description

A reputable and well-established Commercial General Contractor is seeking a Project Manager with 4+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects for a General Contractor.

This role is strictly for professionals who have worked on the General Contractor side of commercial construction. Candidates from subcontractors, specialty trades, or residential backgrounds will not be considered.

Position Overview The Project Manager will lead commercial ground-up and/or major tenant improvement projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is a client-facing leadership role responsible for schedule, budget, subcontractor coordination, and overall project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial projects as the lead PM on behalf of a General Contractor
• Oversee budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and buyout
• Build and manage project schedules
• Coordinate subcontractors and field teams
• Lead OAC meetings and maintain strong client relationships
• Ensure contract compliance, change order management, and risk mitigation
• Drive projects from mobilization through closeout

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager for a Commercial General Contractor
• Proven experience managing ground-up commercial projects and/or large TI projects
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, contracts, and cost control
• Experience managing subcontractors across multiple trades
• Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred)
• Stable work history
