Environmental Field Technician–Michigan City, IN

Aegis Environmental is an established environmental consulting firm that has been serving a wide range of clients since 2000. We’re a small, close-knit team, and we’re looking for an Environmental Field Technician to join us. This role is an excellent opportunity to start—or fast-track—your career in the environmental field while gaining real‑world, hands‑on experience across a variety of projects.

What You’ll Do

• Collecting field samples and environmental data
• Performing water quality, soil, and indoor air quality sampling
• Testing residential and commercial properties for asbestos, lead, mold, and radon
• Assisting with underground storage tank closures, removals, and other cleanup or abatement projects
• Maintaining and caring for field equipment
• Supporting project managers with field and office tasks
• Coordinating with and assisting subcontractors
• Completing required training accurately and on schedule
• Organizing field notes and test results into basic reports
• Communicating effectively with clients and team members
• Most work is performed outdoors
• Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., though schedules may vary by project
• Overnight travel may be required depending on project location

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong safety awareness and the ability to identify and address potential hazards
• Clear and professional communication skills
• A high level of integrity and reliability
• A team-oriented attitude and willingness to help where needed
• Ability to perform physical labor on most workdays
