Position Summary

W&G Construction Co. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Superintendent to lead the on-site execution of commercial construction projects from start to finish. The Superintendent is responsible for managing daily field operations, coordinating subcontractors and trade partners, and ensuring that projects are built safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Superintendent will work closely with Project Managers, clients, and design teams to maintain seamless communication, uphold quality standards, and drive successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and coordination for all on-site construction activities, serving as the primary field contact for the project team and managing Assistant Superintendents, subcontractors, etc.
  • Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with contractual documents, specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Enforce corporate safety programs, maintain a safe jobsite, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Plan, schedule, and direct daily construction activities, monitor project progress, and coordinate recovery plans to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
  • Facilitate preconstruction planning, weekly progress meetings, and ongoing coordination with design teams, trade partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and distribute project documentation including daily reports, QC/QA logs, inspection records, RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.
  • Monitor labor productivity, enforce quality control measures, and ensure cost-conscious construction practices to minimize delays, rework, and non-conformance.
  • Conduct site inspections, mentor field staff, and proactively resolve risks, obstacles, and field issues to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and preparation of record drawings and documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Utilize construction management technology and software tools (Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling software, etc.) to optimize workflow, documentation, and team performance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite while upholding company values and fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of commercial construction experience, including direct site supervision on mid to large scale projects.
  • Proven knowledge of all phases of construction, including commercial interiors, multi-story structures, sitework, finishes, MEP systems, and exterior improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and architectural drawings.
  • OSHA 30-hour and CPR certifications required, strong understanding of construction safety policies and compliance.
  • Experience leading, coordinating, and managing subcontractors, vendors, and onsite teams to ensure quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with construction management software, including Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients, trade partners, and internal teams.
  • Experience with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, progress reports, and punch lists, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
  • Ability to conduct site inspections, monitor progress, identify and resolve field issues, and maintain high-quality construction standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
