About the role:

As an Environmental Engineer, the ideal candidate will support and strengthen the site's environmental compliance, permitting, reporting, waste management, and sustainability programs. This role requires strong knowledge of applicable environmental regulations, technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to identify environmental risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across the Greenwood manufacturing facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental compliance programs in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage environmental permitting, reporting, recordkeeping, and inspections related to air, water, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, and other regulated programs.
  • Evaluate site processes and projects to identify environmental impacts, compliance requirements, and opportunities for risk reduction and sustainability improvement.
  • Support compliance with RCRA, Title V, Tier II, SARA, stormwater, wastewater, and other applicable environmental requirements.
  • Lead or support environmental incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and follow-up verification.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to provide environmental guidance for process changes, new equipment, facility improvements, and Management of Change (MOC) reviews.
  • Develop and deliver environmental training to employees, contractors, and site leaders to promote compliance awareness and responsible environmental practices.
  • Conduct environmental audits, walkthroughs, and assessments to verify compliance, identify gaps, and track corrective actions to completion.
  • Maintain environmental data, metrics, and documentation to support internal reviews, regulatory submissions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate waste characterization, labeling, storage, shipment, disposal, recycling, and vendor support in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assist with updating site procedures, programs, and practices to maintain ongoing compliance.
  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, resource conservation, pollution prevention, and efficiency improvements.
  • Serve as a technical environmental resource for cross-functional teams and promote a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Minimum

Education and Experience:
  • B. S. Engineering or Occupational Health & Safety / Environmental.
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in occupational health, safety and environmental.
  • 3+ years EHS experience in a manufacturing operation, preferably chemical manufacturing.
