Special Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent. Must have medical terminology course OR a formal medical secretary course OR completed a 2 year Health Science Technology Program.
- Previous medical field experience preferred. Must have computer experience. Must have SC Nurse Aide Certification OR passed fundamentals in RN/LPN School of Nursing OR completion of Surg Tech or EMT course OR completed Patient Care Tech course (with CNA certification). BLS certified.
- If Sec/PCT II: worked in at least 2 units independently; delivered one inservice or participated in one special project; was a positive role model for students/peers; was a preceptor if needed.
- If Sec/PCT III: worked in at least 3 units independently or covered 2+ roles; delivered/participated in two in services and/or special projects; was a positive role model for students/peers; was a preceptor.
