Overview

The Material Operations Manager is responsible for managing the internal materials & scheduling processes required inside an Eaton factory to drive the maximum adherence to the Master Production Schedule provided by the Network Planning team through the SIOP process. This role is On-Site in Greenwood, SC with relocation assistance for candidates within the hiring country. The expected annual salary range is $113000 - $165000 and the position is eligible for a variable incentive program.

Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Job Summary

• Manage the internal materials & scheduling processes required inside the Eaton factory to drive adherence to the Master Production Schedule provided by the Network Planning team through the SIOP process.

• Schedule production in the short term horizon based on the S&OE processes.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through accurate cycle counting.
• Manage movement of materials through the facility and internal receipts, storage, distribution and transportation.
• Manage logistics activities for the site.

• Responsible for managing materials flow and transactions inventory to support the plant’s operations by deploying lean material flow.
• Administer Indirect and MRO purchasing function according to Eaton policies and practices.
• Generate short-term production scheduling aligned to the plan defined by the Network.
• Monitor execution of production schedule defined by the Network (schedule labor on factory floor, monitor execution of the production plan).
• Escalate material availability issues to the COE and Network teams.
• Drive forecast attainment aligned with the MPS resulted from the SIOP plan.
• Execute shipment schedule aligned with customer priority dates in coordination with the network and customer service team.
• Champion and deploy continuous improvement using tools such as internal assessments (MMA, OPA), visual management, standard work and value stream mapping.
• Maintain target inventory levels and meet On-Time Delivery (OTD) goals for both internal and external customers, including freight targets (including premium freight) aligned with the network plan.
• Maintain plant data health activities including routings, WMS system, MRO, shipping and receiving, part movements, and production scheduling.
• Serve as a point of contact for escalations related to the overall SIOP plan execution.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Minimum five (5) years’ combined experience in Materials, Operations and/or Supply Chain Management within a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum three (3) years of manager of people experience.

• Experience in supporting cross-functional SIOP and inventory management processes.
• Technical knowledge of forecasting techniques, bill of material structuring and scheduling execution.
• ERP knowledge, preferably current business systems.
• In-depth knowledge of plant manufacturing processes and value streams from raw materials to finished product.
• APICS CPIM Certification is desirable.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate team members to drive for results.
