Equipment Operator – GAS Department Neighbors

Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Pay Range: $49,483.20 – $69,264.00

Location: Greenwood, SC

Hours: 7:00am – 5:30pm Monday – Thursday

Under general supervision, operates heavy equipment as required for the installation and maintenance of the CPW gas system; performs various gas system maintenance duties. Must live within a 20-mile radius of CPW’s Operations Center and able to respond in 40 minutes. Reports to the Gas Construction and Regulatory Compliance Supervisor.

Requires working in difficult weather conditions (rain, hot, cold, etc.);
Physically demanding work;
Requires being on an “on-call” rotation. On-call requires responding to emergency calls 24/7, Monday through Sunday when on employees scheduled on-call week.

Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one year of experience in gas system maintenance and/or service, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Requires possession of a CDL license within six months of employment. Must become Operator Qualified according to the Department of Transportation and Office of Pipeline Safety Operator Qualification rule, within one year of hire. Requires great customer service skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people.
