Group Lead- Shipper - 1st Shift

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Group Lead
- Shipper - 1st Shift.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.77 per hour. The hours for this shift are 7 am - 3:30 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory aries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

Perform all duties required to maintain Shipping operations including but not limited to: loading and unloading, scheduling shipments, release orders, and photograph shipments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Coordinate logistics of container, flatbed and full van pickup and delivery – communicate directly with carriers and other personnel.

Combine orders to maximize truckload shipments in the most cost-effective manner.

Work with credit department and other personnel for release of orders on hold. Troubleshoot problem solving as well as train shippers to assist to troubleshoot/problem solve issues.

Perform and train shippers on duties necessary to load and unload flatbed trucks, vans, and containers in a safe manner.

Take photos and maintains archive of truckload shipments.

Perform and train shippers on duties necessary to process small parcel shipments (UPS, Fedex and DHL) as needed.

Delegate/coordinate daily workload of Shippers to help ensure shipping goals are met. Publish export packing and mark packages / shipments as required.

Perform as well as train shippers on all types of material handling, lifting, and packaging while following the shipping schedule and processing shipments.

Facilitate communication between Materials Supervisor and Shippers as needed.

Publish requisition weekly for miscellaneous part orders.

Instruct, train, and/or assist shipping and other personnel as required.

Train shippers on existing and new processes and procedures.

Process perform and train on duties related to freight claims.

Process shipping paperwork daily for records to be scanned to SAP delivery. Hard copy of shipping paperwork is to be maintained in Shipping department files. Train or facilitate training of Youth Apprentice as needed to assist with these duties.

Delegate tasks as needed to the team working with Materials Lead and Receiving Lead as needed.

Provide guidance and direction to employees to ensure compliance with 5S+ at the start of each shift and 5S+ at the end of every shift.

Maintain safe and clean work area in accordance with factory standards.

Maintain a clean an organized and clutter free backroom/receiving area operation.

Actively support a culture of safety which includes, but is not limited:
Life Saving Rules, Risk Assessment, FIFI, Quality, and Shipping expectations.

Encourage team to continuously improve Safety, Quality and Lean.

Maintain high levels of quality in assigned areas of functional responsibility.

Lead daily Tier 1 meeting(s) and daily Stretch and Flex.

Ensure the Visual Boards are continuously maintained.

Perform additional duties as required.

Cross train for receiving lead position.
