Inclusive Excellence Statement Advertised Job Summary Under the direction of the Grants Administrator, the Grants Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and operational support across the full lifecycle of sponsored projects, serving as a critical link between pre‑award and post‑award grant administration.

This position collaborates closely with principal investigators, departmental leadership, central administrative offices, and external sponsors to facilitate proposal development and submission, coordinate award setup and implementation, monitor project activities, and ensure compliance with sponsor, institutional, and regulatory requirements. The Grants Coordinator promotes the efficient management of sponsored programs by supporting seamless transitions from proposal development through award closeout, enhancing communication, and contributing to the successful stewardship of the department's research portfolio.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge
- Knowledge of basic accounting and financial principles as they relate to sponsored projects. Skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, administrators, sponsors, and external partners.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Abilities
- Interpret and apply sponsor guidelines, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements.

- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive financial and research information.

- Work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

- Prioritize competing demands in a fast‑paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines.

- Learn and adapt to evolving sponsor requirements, institutional policies, and research administration systems.

- Support principal investigators and departmental leadership through proactive communication, planning, and administrative coordination.

- Maintain accurate records and documentation that support compliance, audits, and financial accountability.
