Advertised Job Summary Responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the energy distribution steam crew and high voltage shop.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Thorough knowledge of application and practices for large central steam and chilled water distribution systems, and HVAC mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of high voltage systems and equipment, working knowledge of direct digital control (DDC) energy management systems.
- Must have the ability to write and interpret complex technical plans and reports; to communicate verbally and in writing and communicate effectively with management and other professionals.
- Demonstrated organizational, planning, and scheduling skills;
Problem solving skills;
Teambuilding skills and customer service skills. - Ability to multitask and manage multiple and complex duties concurrently.
- Prioritize work activities in alignment with the department's goals.
- Ability to meet time restrictions work within specific resource limitations.
- Assess training needs of employees with regards to energy best practices.
- Ability to make fact-based decisions, to project a positive university image which encourages high morale and promotes confidence.
- High school diploma and 10 years professional experience in a specialized trades area; or in diversified building or vehicle maintenance, or construction activity.
- Supervisory experience must be in an energy related field or business.
