Position

Description:

Palmetto Corp. is currently looking for a Luteman or Asphalt Raker. A Luteman (Asphalt Raker) is a skilled position that requires proficient technique to redistribute the asphalt mix correctly as it leaves the screed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Adhere to all Palmetto Corp. Safety guidelines

* Spread asphalt with a rake using proper technique and maintained at a steady pace

* Ensure proper technique at seams and joins to insure a smooth surface with minimal segregation

* Shoveling asphalt and sweeping up debris

* Responsible for proper match points and limits of asphalt mix adjacent to concrete structures, manholes, water valves and other fixtures within the road surface

* Assist screed operator with even distribution of asphalt materials onto road

* Shovel asphalt mix into areas inaccessible to paving machines

* Complete other general laborer task as assigned such as cleaning and preparing of job sites

* Operate other equipment as needed

* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Must be able to work overtime, nights and/or weekends (if needed).
