The Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior at the University of South Carolina’s Arnold School of Public Health invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor. This role is part of the campus‑wide Environmental Health Cluster Initiative. The successful candidate will develop a robust, extramurally funded research program in implementation science applied to environmental health, contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching (in‑person and online), and mentor master’s and doctoral students.

The candidate will also collaborate across disciplines within the Environmental Health Cluster to accelerate solutions that improve community and population health.

• Develop and lead an implementation science research program focused on environmental health.
• Secure and manage extramural funding for research.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in person and online.
• Mentor students at the master’s and doctoral levels.
• Participate in departmental and institutional service, including committee work.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the Environmental Health Cluster to advance interdisciplinary scholarship.

• Applicants for the rank of Assistant Professor must demonstrate strong potential for obtaining competitive funding to support a research program and serving as an effective instructor and student mentor.
• Applicants for the rank of Associate Professor must have a strong record of scholarship and funded research, with at least 5 years of experience as an effective instructor, mentor, and researcher by the start date of employment.
• Applicants for the rank of Professor must have a sustained record of distinguished scholarship and externally funded research, a demonstrably excellent record of teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, evidence of meaningful service to the discipline and to the institution (including leadership roles), and typically a minimum of 9 years of effective, relevant experience by the start date of employment.
