Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a Geometry / Dimensional Engineer with hands-on experience in plastic injection components to support dimensional convergence across automotive development projects. This role requires strong expertise in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and dimensional validation within a cross-functional engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate datum schemes, tolerance stack-ups, and calculations defined by the Design Leader/EPM.
  • Support tolerance commitments during the RFQ phase in collaboration with Project and Product teams.
  • Define and validate measurement strategies aligned with customer requirements.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using CMM, FARO arm, and checking fixtures.
  • Analyze measurement data to identify deviations, risks, and root causes.
  • Prepare clear, structured dimensional reports and present findings to Project Managers and stakeholders.
  • Lead Geometry Folder definition for complex or innovative programs.
  • Ensure proper application of geometric tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Consolidate plant dimensional capabilities to improve tolerance calculations and convergence efficiency.
  • Participate in technical discussions with customers regarding tolerance feasibility.
  • Estimate geometry-related project workload, including hours and cost, for validation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in geometry or dimensional engineering within automotive or industrial environments.
  • Strong expertise in GD&T, datum schemes, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with CMM, FARO Arm, and checking fixtures.
  • Experience measuring plastic injection components (automotive exterior parts preferred).
  • Proven ability to analyze dimensional deviations and produce structured technical reports.
  • Comfortable presenting technical findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface between product, process, and project teams.
