About the Role

The Production Test Engineer supports production tests, failure analysis, and repair activities to achieve quality targets and on‑time delivery of systems according to the overall production schedule. They provide first‑level support to the production team and act as liaisons with the Engineering and Mfg Test Development teams. They collect and analyze test data and provide solutions to increase test process yields and efficiency, working closely with cross‑functional production and management teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.

What

You’ll Do
  • Work with system and diagnostic engineers to understand server hardware architecture and features.
  • Influence manufacturing test development, execution, and test flow to improve cycle time and reporting requirements.
  • Validate manufacturing tests and lead regression testing of all releases.
  • Provide timely feedback to diagnostic teams, report test bugs, and identify test improvements.
  • Own manufacturing test processes for NPI products before mass production, ensuring on‑time shipment of all programs.
  • Track NPI hardware progress through the manufacturing test process and create failure summary reports.
  • Differentiated failures: identify hardware failures vs. test‑process induced false fails.
  • Collaborate with system engineering and diagnostic teams to close all open test issues.
  • Oversee and improve test processes, providing daily production test status reports and yield summaries.
  • Diagnose first‑level failures, propose and status process improvements, and analyze test cycle times.
  • Review test logs to root‑cause failures, create experiments and scripts to isolate and duplicate failures, and assess reproducibility.
  • Train production test and repair technicians and become subject‑matter expert for all manufacturing tests.
  • Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives, working with extended teams to execute improvement actions among peers, leads, supervisors, managers, and engineering staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing test experience, including server setup, debugging, and repair.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Programming experience in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience with networking and Intel server architecture.
  • Experience in data center environments is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of test data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
