Job Description Summary

The Advanced Manufacturing / Repair Technology Fluoride Ion Cleaning (FIC) Surface-Prep role is responsible for the execution of projects related to the cleaning and pre‑joining prep of gas turbine superalloy components and supporting infrastructure business technology and productivity initiatives. This person will work directly with the various new‑make and services teams to drive development and industrialisation of lean programmes for parts fulfilment, contractual services productivity, as well as transactional services growth.

The focus of this role is to develop, drive and industrialise process technology for Gas Turbine Technology with a continual focus on safety and lean principles and a heavy focus on Repair Value Stream specific initiatives. This role can affect short‑term and long‑term business goals.

Essential Functions
  • Provide technical guidance to RVS and the global manufacturing centres for all FIC process aspects for standardised global processes, repair capability and productivity projects.
  • Lead development and continuous improvement of FIC programmes related to fulfilment, cost out and New Product Introduction (NPI) for Gas Turbine Technology.
  • Assure all processes meet required specifications, considering the quality and productivity aspects for this technology.
  • Provide technical guidance and processing support for the repair shop locations for all analysis related to FIC process quality and evaluation.
  • Support and coordinate with interfacing organisations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, manufacturing process engineering, design and systems engineering.
  • Provide strong technical guidance and contribution to Lean process development and lean manufacturing execution.
  • Communicate progress to all levels of the organisation.
Basic Qualifications
  • 4‑year degree from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 3 additional years of experience related to repair or cleaning/joining of high‑temperature metals and superalloys; preferably related to gas turbine or aviation technologies.
  • Ability to travel globally (estimated 10–15% travel).
Desired Characteristics
  • Strong background with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes requiring chemical processing of components.
  • Additional experience in manufacture or component repair for industrial gas turbines preferred.
  • Sound materials and manufacturing process background preferred.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
