Prysmian is the world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, producing underground and submarine cables for power transmission and distribution, as well as medium‑low‑voltage cables for construction and infrastructure. Major Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and direct Process Engineering projects and activities at the Lexington facility to ensure production lines operate at optimum capacity and efficiency.
- Assess problems and initiate corrective actions within assigned production lines to resolve process‑related failures, equipment malfunctions, and other situations causing downtime.
- Review equipment and process performance and initiate projects to upgrade or streamline processes or procedures.
- Collaborate with Documentation/Quality Assurance to ensure all required documents are current, complete, and compliant with ISO
9000/ISO
14000 requirements. - Work with Engineering Design, Process Units, and customers to ensure efficient production processes meet customer demands and Division quality standards.
- Assist Finance in developing and maintaining the Standard Cost system to ensure accurate cost controls.
- Identify technical training needs to support organizational effectiveness and achievement of Pirelli-CD plans and objectives.
- Provide and direct timely transfers of new processes, methods, and techniques to assigned production lines for effective startup of new or revised products and/or processes.
- Support TPM to improve efficiency and capabilities of the Lexington Process Units.
- Prepare monthly reports detailing status of projects for management.
- Achieve cost‑reduction objectives through technology, methods, and techniques improvements.
- Implement new capital projects without disrupting delivery commitments to customers.
- Increase capacity and efficiency from existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Maintain quality standards while enhancing or revising processes, methods, and techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably electrical or mechanical.
- Four to six years of practical experience in a high‑volume process manufacturing environment encompassing manufacturing engineering, statistical planning techniques, business systems, project management, and quality control.
- Fiber optics experience is a plus.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated people‑management skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all equipment, processes, methods, and capabilities for assigned production lines.
- Knowledge of business systems, manufacturing process equipment, test and inspection procedures, and Standard Cost systems/monitoring.
